Air Astana is assisting
the veterans of the Great Patriotic War (World War II) by providing them with the
opportunity to see their friends and fellow soldiers throughout the various
cities of Kazakhstan
and countries of the CIS. Participants
and disabled veterans of World War II may use this opportunity to obtain free
tickets on the airline's regular flights to any location in Kazakhstan as
well as selected cities within the CIS.
Air Astana has provided this service since 2002 as a tribute to the
memory and heroic deeds of Kazakhstan's
citizens who participated in the war.
Starting in 2008, WWII veterans received free tickets between May 1st
and June 15th. Two years ago, Air Astana
as a continued gesture of our appreciation extended this free service to
include the entire year. Now, we are pleased to announce that between May 1st
and June 30th of each year, the airline will provide a 50% discount for a
passenger who accompanies a WWII veteran.
Additional fees and
charges at the airport are not included in this discount and are the
responsibility of the passengers themselves.
The accompanying passenger must stay with the veteran for the entire
route.
