  • Arrival of Boeing 767 (P4-KCA)

    28 February 2007

A new page in the history of Air Astana has started with the acquisition of the first “wide-body” aircraft for the company. The aircraft is a Boeing B767-300ER. “ER” stands for “Extended Range”. It has two main engines each producing up to over 27 Tonnes of thrust and can fly up to 11300 m at approximately 850km/h.

It has been manufactured in February 1997 and was formerly operated by KLM, so it is an aircraft that has already flown to Almaty many times in the past. It can carry more than 15 Tonnes of payload and weights up to 181 Tonnes on takeoff! The cabin is configured with 30 business class seats with individual in-flight entertainment units (LCD screens), and 190 economy seats. The total electrical wiring in the aircraft mounts up to 188 km when put end to end. The aircraft is 55 meters long and the tip of the tail is at close to 16 m off the ground!

P4-KCA landed in Kazakhstan at 08:50 hours local time in Astana on February 23, 2007. It arrived in Almaty on the February 23, 2007 at approximately 17:40 hrs.

Air Astana is very proud of this acquisition.
