  • Air Astana Launches a New Direct Flight from Astana to Bishkek

    23 April 2013

Central Asia hub in Astana continues to grow

Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s flag carrier, launched a new non stop flight from Astana to Bishkek on 23rd April 2013. The new service linking the capitals of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will be operated three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The two hour flight will be performed by Embraer 190 configured with nine business and 88 economy seats.

Astana to Bishkek is the airline’s second service to the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The service between Bishkek and Almaty was launched November 2008, with more than 52 000 passengers and 70,000 kilos of cargo being carried on the route to date.

“The launch of the new services between Astana and Bishkek is the latest step in Air Astana’s strategy of regional expansion. The new three weekly services from Astana not only complements the existing five weekly services from Almaty, but also significantly provides connections between the two capital cities. In addition to direct traffic, the schedule of the new flights have been planned to provide good connections in Astana to destinations in the Russian Federation, such as Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Omsk, and Moscow. This new flight also enables passengers to connect from Kyrgyzstan onto Air Astana’s European network, with destinations including Istanbul and Frankfurt. Air Astana will be using the new Embraer 190 regional jet for new route to Bishkek, with customers enjoying Skytrax 4 star award winning comfort and cabin service”, comments Richard Ledger, Director Worldwide Sales, Air Astana.

The minimum cost of a round trip economy class ticket from Astana to Bishkek, including all fees, is US$ 246.31 and a business class ticket is US$ 584.31.
