Requirements for Commanders (type rated and experienced on any of the following types: Boeing 767/757, Airbus A320/321, Fokker-50)
- Eligible for Kazakhstan citizenship
- Current and valid Kazakhstan ICAO ATPL
- Minimum of hours Commander: 1500
- Minimum of total time:
i. minimum of 5000 hours for jet direct entry
ii. minimum of 3500 hours for non-Jet direct entry - Minimum of 500 hours on type and position
- Must pass a skill test on aircraft type, according to Air Astana standards
- Maximum of 55 years of age
- Command of conversational English is required
- Must be qualified for international flights
- Must possess a valid and current class 1 medical
- No criminal records and no security restrictions
- Good character and good conduct
- Must pass the Air Astana internal evaluation programme.
Requirements for First Officers (type rated and experienced on any of the following types: Boeing 767/757, Airbus A320/321, Fokker-50)
- Eligible for Kazakhstan citizenship
- Current and valid Kazakhstan ICAO ATPL
- If not JAR-FCL ATPL modular programme qualified:
i. Minimum of 900 hours total time
ii. Minimum of 400 hours multi-engine, multi-crew time
iii. Minimum of 200 hours on type and position - If JAR-FCL ATPL modular programme qualified:
i. Minimum of 350 hours total time
ii. Minimum of 200 hours multi-engine, multi-crew time
iii. Minimum of 200 hours on type and position - Maximum of 45 years of age
- Command of conversational English is required
- Must be qualified for international flights
- Must possess a valid and current class 1 medical
- No criminal records and no security restrictions
- Good character and good conduct
- Must pass the Air Astana internal evaluation programme.

- Must possess a valid and current class 1 medical

- Must be qualified for international flights
- Must possess a valid and current Kazakh class 1 medical
- No criminal records and no security restrictions
- Good character and good conduct
- Must pass the Air Astana internal evaluation programme.

- Eligible for Kazakhstan citizenship
- Current and valid Kazakhstan and JAR-FCL 1 (ATPL frozen) ATPL
- Minimum of total time 1000 hours
- Minimum of 400 hours multi-engine, multi-crew
- Maximum of 45 years of age
- Command of conversational English is required
