Air Astana is looking for young Kazakh citizens who are motivated to become pilots for our company. A program called “AB-INITIO” has been put in place whereby the successful candidates will be sent abroad for study in a reputable Aviation school.

SELECTION PROCESS

AB – INITIO REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must meet the following criteria

• Must be Kazakh Citizen
• Age from minimum 18 years to 29 years
• Must have School/College certificate
• Must have had a minimum of progressive score not less than 4.5 on final school certificate
• Must have a minimum score in Math and Physics not less than 4
• Must not have anything on police record
• Must agree that Air Astana will deal directly with the loaning bank on behalf of the student until full repayment of AB-INITIO loan
• Must have a valid international passport
• Must be eligible for Schengen and US VISA
• Must agree to sign a bond period of minimum 7 years for the employment as pilot with Air Astana

If candidate meets these requirements, documents may be received

I Document Selection:

• Curriculum vitae
• Application form
• ID card or/ and passport (copies)
• Certificate of secondary education with enclosure (copy)
• Certificate of The Common National Testing (copy) (if available)
• Diploma (Certificate of degree) with enclosure (copy) – bachelor/ masters– if available
• IELTS/ TOEFL certificates (if available)

Those candidates whose documents are acceptable will be invited for interview

II Candidates Selection

Selection process includes two stages

1 Stage:

a) English interview (must have good written and spoken English)

b) Kazakhstan Pilot Medical Exam

c) Kazakhstan Security Background Check

2 Stage:

If candidates pass the interview, they will be scheduled for COMPASS assessment through European Pilot Selection and Training (EPST) in three phases: Phase 1 in Almaty; those who successfully pass Phase 1 will be evaluated in Phase 2 & 3 in Amsterdam. English Assessment to be conducted by the FTO staff, place determined as necessary..

EPST:

Phase 1. Aptitude test on physics/ math and psychometric test with training providers

Phase 2. Psychometric interview

Phase 3. Flight simulator assessment

FTO:

1. English interview (ICAO language proficiency will be conducted by training providers)

2. FAA medical check

Note:

If participant fails local selection, he/she may reapply one time, a minimum of twelve months after the first unsuccessful attempt, except those who failed medical examination.

If participant fails selection with training providers (stage 2 which includes phase 2-psychometric interview phase 3- flight simulator assessment) he/she will not be allowed to reapply.

Those candidates who are unsuccessful in training at the FTO will not be allowed to reapply for the program.
