Requirements for Commanders (Type rated and experienced on any of the following types: Boeing 767/757, Airbus A320/321, Fokker50)

  • Eligible for Kazakhstan citizenship;
  • Current and valid Kazakhstan ICAO ATPL
  • Minimum of hours Commander: 1500
  • Minimum of total time:
    i. minimum of 5000 hours for Jet direct entry
    ii. minimum of 3500 hours for non Jet direct entry
  • Minimum of 500 hours on type and position
  • Must succeed a skill test on type according to Air Astana standards
  • Maximum of 55 years of age
  • Command of conversational English is required
  • Must be qualified for international flights
  • Must possess a valid and current class 1 medical
  • No criminal records and no security restrictions
  • Good character and good conduct
  • Successfully passes the internal evaluation programme

Requirements for First Officers (Type rated and experienced on any of the following types: Boeing 767/757, Airbus A320/321, Fokker50)

  • Eligible for Kazakhstan citizenship
  • Current and valid Kazakhstan ICAO ATPL
  • If not JAR-FCL ATPL modular programme qualified:
    i. Minimum of 900 hours total time
    ii. Minimum of 400 hours multi-engine, multi-crew time
    iii. Minimum of 200 hours on type and position
  • If JAR-FCL ATPL modular programme qualified:
    i. Minimum of 350 hours total time
    ii. Minimum of 200 hours multi-engine, multi-crew time
    iii. Minimum of 200 hours on type and position
  • Maximum of 45 years of age
  • Command of conversational English is required
  • Must be qualified for international flights
  • Must possess a valid and current class 1 medical
  • No criminal records and no security restrictions
  • Good character and good conduct
  • Successfully passes the internal evaluation programme

Requirements for Commanders (Non type rated entry Turboprop)

  • Eligible for Kazakhstan citizenship
  • Current and valid Kazakhstan ICAO ATPL
  • Minimum of total time 5000 hours
  • Minimum of hours Commander as follows:
    i. Minimum of 500 hours on 1 class aeroplane
    ii. Minimum of 1000 hours on 2 class aeroplane
  • Minimum of 2000 hours multi-engine
  • Minimum of 2000 hours multi-crew
  • Maximum of 50 years of age
  • Command of conversational English is required
  • Must be qualified for international flights
  • Must possess a valid and current class 1 medical
  • No criminal records and no security restrictions
  • Good character and good conduct

Requirements for First Officers (Non type rated entry Turboprop, non JAA ATPL frozen licensed)

  • Eligible for Kazakhstan citizenship
  • Current and valid Kazakhstan ICAO ATPL
  • Minimum of total time 1000 hours
  • Minimum of 400 hours multi-engine, multi-crew
  • Maximum of 45 years of age
  • Command of conversational English is required
  • Must undergo a full in-house pre-assessment (short listing)
  • Must be qualified for international flights
  • Must possess a valid and current Kazakh class 1 medical
  • No criminal records and no security restrictions
  • Good character and good conduct
  • Successfully passes the internal evaluation programme.

Requirements for First Officers (Non type rated entry Turboprop, JAA ATPL frozen licensed)

  • Eligible for Kazakhstan citizenship
  • Current and valid Kazakhstan and JAR-FCL 1 (ATPL frozen) ATPL
  • Minimum of total time 1000 hours
  • Minimum of 400 hours multi-engine, multi-crew
  • Maximum of 45 years of age
  • Command of conversational English is required
  • Mist undergo a full in-house pre-assessment (short listing)
  • Must be qualified for international flights
  • Must possess a valid and current Kazakh class 1 medical
  • No criminal records and no security restrictions
  • Good character and good conduct
  • Successfully passes the internal evaluation programme.
