Climate in Atyrau is sharp continental, very hot in summer (+40 - 42) and cold in winter (-20 -25). Relative humidity in summer not more than 37% and in winter 80-84%. Atyrau is known for its strong winds and duststorms. It has arid climate.
AIRPORT
Airport is not far from the town - 5 km, it's about 15 minutes drive from the city. You can reach airport only by taxi, no public transport. It cost around 600-800 Tenge to get to/from the airport (approximate).

Atyrau is famous as an Oil Capital of Kazakhstan. Oil, gas, mineral resources, fishery are main industries in Atyrau. Atyrau region is rich for mineral resources, especially hydrocarbon material. Atyrau region has a unique Tengiz oil field, the development of which started in 90-s years. Ural River divides Atyrau into two parts: Europe and Asia. Atyrau has the longest footbridge which is mentioned in Guinness' Records Book.
