Air Astana participation in Arabian Travel Market 2006!
This year from the 2nd of May to the 5th of May Air Astana for the first time took part in a world wide known travel and tourism exhibition - ATM 06 (Arabian Travel Market), held annually in Dubai. This year the event celebrated its 13th successful year. The participants of exhibitions were companies that work in such spheres as travel, tourism and air carriages, and the number of the companies that participated this year exceeded 1, 750 from 59 countries.
The Air Astana team that represented the airline got an unique opportunity to provide information about the young, but rapidly developing Kazakhstani airline. During the exhibition the visitors were shown documentaries about leading cities of Kazakhstan and its beautiful resources. Also, a separate movie about Chimbulak ski resort was shown and drew a lot of attention and interest.
The main focus was to promote the airlines plans regarding the fleet, product, branding and expansion. For the convenience of our passengers during coming winter season the number of flights to Dubai will increase to 6, from the current 4 weekly services. Air Astana was also successful in securing numerous commercial agreements with leading carriers and tour operators of the Middle East region.
The great honor for us was when His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai visitied our stand and showed great interest to a young and fast growing airline from Kazakhstan.
According to the analysts’ forecast, ATM which has annually recorded double-digit growth will continue to expand.
“International awareness of the show is expanding year-on-year and with the Middle East’s airlines opening up new routes and destinations, additional countries are looking to leverage their tourism potential among the region’s much sought-after outbound traveling business and leisure public,” said Tom Nutley, Chairman of Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE), which organizes the event.
